Map 2 L 57 Off Muzzy Ridge (ROW) Road, Searsmont, ME 04973
This wonderful lot is accessed via a right of way off from Muzzy Ridge Road. A great spot to build your home, privately set back off the road. A possible off grid location for your camp, home or retreat. A forester has looked at the property with the following synopsis.'
A cut in the 90's was concentrated in the southern/back part of the property, and a harvest just a few years ago. There is currently low to moderate merchantable volume, and very little sawtimber apart from the scattered large white pines in the northern end. A few clumps of pole-sized hardwoods remain (which were mostly too small at the time of the harvest), and there is some decent firewood there in trees ranging from 6-10 inches diameter. Large patches that were cut hard in the 90s now have very dense saplings, including balsam fir, white pine, white birch, and red maple, which are nearly all too small to be considered merchantable at this point.
Further north, there are scattered tall, nice quality white pines, with saplings below and wide skid trails between. The trails are starting to emerge from a grass/raspberry phase with some young trees popping up in the trails.
The terrain is mild, sloping to the back of the property. It gets increasingly wet, and is best accessed by equipment when frozen.
